Grok Bot Updates 01: Vault, 1Password and Pages, what's new and how to use them

Three recent Grok Bot updates change how everyday jobs get done: saving card and login details safely, signing in without typing passwords into chat, and live documents your bot keeps up to date.

Grok Bot has had a run of updates over the past fortnight. Three of them change how you do everyday jobs: keeping card and login details safely in one place, signing in to sites without typing passwords into chat, and getting a live document your bot keeps up to date. There was also a change to the plan Grok Bot sits on.

This post is based on the official update notes, listed at the end. We haven't tested these features ourselves, so treat this as a plain-English guide to what the notes say, not a review. Some features, such as 1Password, are rolling out gradually, so they may not be on your account yet.

Vault (22 October)

Vault keeps your cards, logins and personal details in one place, so your bots can fill in checkout and sign-in forms without you pasting card numbers or passwords into chat. You manage it in Grok Bot Settings, and only you can see what's saved.

Everyday examples

  • You ask your bot to order school supplies for the family. When the checkout form asks for a card, the bot fills it from Vault instead of you typing the number into the conversation.
  • You're booking a weekend away. The bot fills in your saved details at checkout, and you keep your attention on choosing the trip.

How to use it

  • To add a card, go to Settings > Vault > Add card. Type the details, or tap Scan and hold up the front of the card.
  • When a bot asks for card or login details in a secure form, tick "Securely save to Grok Bot's vault" before you submit. Next time, the bot fills it from Vault.

1Password (22 October)

If you already use 1Password, the bot can sign in to sites with your 1Password logins. There's no shared vault or service account involved. When the bot needs a login, it asks 1Password, you approve the request in the 1Password app, and 1Password fills it in. The bot never sees your passwords.

Everyday examples

  • You ask your bot to check a supplier portal for an invoice. The bot asks 1Password for the login, you approve on your phone, and the bot carries on.
  • You want your bot to tidy up a booking on a travel site you already have an account with. You approve the sign-in once for that request instead of handing over a password.

How to use it

  • Go to Connect apps > 1Password > Connect. Or ask the bot to sign in to a site, and connect when it offers.
  • You need the 1Password app version 8.12.42 or later.
  • This is rolling out gradually, so you may not see it yet.

Pages (21 October)

A Page is a live document or app, such as a report, dashboard or plan, that your bot keeps updating as you ask. It opens from a card in the chat, and you change it by asking the bot. You can find your Pages in the bot's info pane under Library. Pages rolled out to all users on 21 October.

Everyday examples

  • A weekly shopping or trip plan Page that you share with a partner. Ask the bot to add an item or change a day, and the Page updates.
  • A weekly small-business report Page, shared by link, so your team or an adviser can open the latest version without you sending a new file every week.

How to share

  • Use Page > Share and choose Only you, Your team, or Anyone with the link.
  • Team sharing is on by default, and admins can turn it off. Pick the setting that suits what's on the Page before you share it.

Plan change: Grok Bot and The X Subscription (18 October)

Grok Bot is now part of The X Subscription, one plan that includes Grok, Cursor and X Premium. It's included on Premium, Super and Ultra, but not on Free or Plus. The plan shares one weekly usage pool, and extra usage beyond the pool comes from prepaid credits. Existing subscribers keep their current plan until they switch from their billing settings.

To see where you stand, check Settings > Usage & Billing. The details are at cursor.com/help/grok-bot/plans.

How to get started: a quick checklist

  1. Open Grok Bot Settings and look for Vault. Add one card or login you use often.
  2. Next time a bot asks for details in a secure form, tick "Securely save to Grok Bot's vault".
  3. If you use 1Password, check the app is version 8.12.42 or later, then try Connect apps > 1Password > Connect. If it isn't there yet, it hasn't reached your account.
  4. Ask your bot for a Page, such as a weekly plan or report, and find it later in the Library.
  5. Before sharing a Page, check the setting: Only you, Your team, or Anyone with the link.
  6. Check Settings > Usage & Billing so you know which plan you're on.
